Had a similar problem, only had hot air when travelling, if I stopped or turned the fan speed up passed No1, the air went cold very quickly.

Sorted it by replacing the auxilliary water pump (under the expansion tank).

As I had a spare I just replaced it. But on inspection it was only full of crud, which stopped the impeller turning. Impeller is not connected to the motor shaft, it runs via a magnet which is rotating in reaction to the  motor rotor. (or something like that)

It can be serviced, undo the 4 cross head screws, pull off the the pump cover with the inlet/outlet pipes connect to. (orange seal situated under)

spin the impeller, if it turns easily its not the problem, if it's rough or jammed, just pull it out.

This is what issunaz wrote for me. Does he mean the header tank. So do i have to remove it and take it apart or what. Where is the auxilliary water pump. Please expalin i need to get this sorted

Thankyou for all you help

right,

one hose goes accross the engine bay and connects to a piece below the windscreen wipers on the passenger side.
the second one now connects to the heater valve only.

Right,

hello there everybody, hope you all had a good christmas.

i have managed to replace the crank sensor on the car and at the same time connected the vacuum pipe to the top of the heater valve.

the car now runs and drives beautifully, but the heater is still not working, just blowing through cold.

at one point yesterday it blew through hot for ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND then just went cold again.

please advise on waht this could be

thankyou again for all your help

How do you bleed the omega, i looked for a bleed nipple but could not find one, so i just left the coolant cap off and had the heater on hot.

The pipes to the matrix are now nice and hot before one was hot and the other cold as the matrix was blocked.

Omega General Help / I am now getting there
« on: 15 January 2007, 11:54:08 »
Happy monday morning everyone.

I replaced the heater matrix in my car on sunday and what a git to do, near enough complete removal of the dash and a whole days work and the problem is starting to get sorted.

I now have warm air but only on the passeneger side and no the drivers, but i think that might be a cable problem.

But now it blows hot then warm, then hot and so on.

Someone told me a way to resolve this but i cannot remember or find it on the forum anywhere, so can someone please help me.

Plus i now have a airbag light up as i removed both front airbags, is there someone in the essex area who can reset this for me

Cheers Nick

i removed the old crankshaft sensor on saturday and it was knackered and what a pain to remove.

the cable goes roud the top of the exhaust and then it was jammed between the heat shield and the bulkhead of the car.

in the end i cut the sensor off the end and just pull the cable out.

Cheers for your help
