Why are cars all 'she'?

Hello,
Not sure if I should be writing this here but hello anyway. I hope to gain some good advice to keep my 'old man' happy and on the road. Why 'old man'? Because why should all cars be a she!

No idea why they are all She's - probably because they need constant fettling to keep them happy :P

Mine have all been 'she's' as they have all been tempremental and constantly demanding money spending on them ;D ;D ;D (no offence ;) )
