I believe the first complaint about these gollies was made five years ago in 2018. The council (to whom, I presume, the complaint was made) said no further action was necessary. Someone must have gone direct to the police this time.

But, obviously, the person displaying these toys was a racist bastard, a very, very serious offence. After a burglary, the insurance company will replace your stolen items. But, after catching sight of these, can I bring myself to say it, golliwogs 😱, a person could be scarred for life.

Where I walk my dog regularly on the farmland behind us there's a cottage called Golly Cottage it sells logs it used to have a sign stating the obvious Gollylogs , I noticed last week that the sign had been removed wouldn't surprise me if some arsehole has complained about that.

As a nipper I went to a C of E school.
Church was a great opportunity to stop off at the 'ciggy shop' where the owner would sell us individual cigarettes and a book of matches. We were about 9 or 10 at the time. :)
