DTi Decat
« on: 16 February 2011, 21:23:35 »

There are two cats on the DTi, one under the floor pan (which I plan to cut out and have a pipe welded in place) and one pretty much bolted to the back of the Turbo.

SO.... Does anyone make a replacement complete pipe from the connection to the turbo all the way to the join just after the second cat?  ::)

CD Pete de-cated then remapped his DTi with very good results, I'm looking to see if that can be taken a stage further by removing the primary cat.

Not sure if removing it is going to be too easy, however, someone with the right metalworking skills could maybe open one up, remove the innards and stitch it back up again!

Link to show Primary cat - it bolts to the turbo then to the down pipe....

its not really a cat on the diesels although they call it one, you could just unbolt it and remove the innards which are not very fine mesh easy enough to break it out, be interesting to see how much difference it makes!! nice little saturday morning project?

Might get one from ebay and have a little play. Second one is definately destined for the bin!
