I dunno about that... My 2.8 carburetted auto struggled to do 14 mpghttps://www.volvocars.com/intl/special-vehicles/police-and-emergency/
I'd wager that if some retro bank robbers nicked Mick's Grannie off the drive on the one night he'd left it out and robbed a bank somewhere in Lincolnsausageshire, they'd be away up the A1 while Electro-plod were waiting for their milkfloat to charge and the one out on patrol would die before they reached the South Yorks border.
Can't see the Plod spec cars being limited...May Volvo rip as they've gone full Milk-float.
.......that will never go faster than 112 MPH.
The nanny state is alive and well.
It's a cracker( 2.8 Ghia X) deposit paid will sort it all out when we get back from our cruise , lovely old lady to deal with , I've had one of these years ago but only a 2.3GL .That apparently needs a full restoration...

sigh ...... bulkhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to a previous member of crew being interviewed the vessel had encountered several mechanical problems in the past, probably well past its serviceable life & poor maintenance wouldn't suprise me in the slightest, hope whoever owns it has decent insurance for all involved , I can see this incident opening up a whole can of worms. That smacks of a disgruntled former employee rather than anything meaningful.
