Thanks there is some ideas there....I can smell a bit of oil after a long journey, but there is also a strange noise which I did not place earlier which could be the exhaust manifold ever so slightly....

Every now and then I can swear I can smell exhaust fumes in my car, first I thought it is just the car in front, but then yesterday there was no other car around so it must be from mine....

It only really happens when I am still and idling or sometimes when slowing down slowly...

Any ideas?

Is the Catera kit exactly the same as the Omega's? And does anyone actually used one of these kits, unless I am reading it incorrectly it sounds like these are stickers to be applied over the existing material?

Not trying to offend anyone but I can't stand this fake wood look in the CD, CDX and Elite's. Much previous the fake aluminium from the MV6.

Does anyone know whether you can change it? And where to buy the kit? Or is there a MV6 owner who prefers the lovely looking   wood and wants to swap

After 40k miles of absence I am back with an Omega from next weekend when I pick mine up. Hopefully a bit longer this time than my £300 special from last time. I now have a facelift 2000 2.5V6 CDX, very standard, clean and in my book low miles of only £62k with 2 previous owners....

Its a bit slower than my current BMW 740, but also a lot new and cheaper to run.

Must admit, i fell in love with her as soon as i saw her. Been driving her around town and she certainly gets a lot of looks

  I know you are excited about the car, but surely an Omega doesn't attract any looks around town! There good be only two reasons I think;
1) There are a lot of thick people who think the Police still have them
2) There is a good looking fella inside

I love that colour too, used to have an 1995 Omega Estate in it, but also a 1997 Saab Convertible. With cream interior it is gorgeous, I had even black cab drivers pull up next to me commenting on it! Nice

as Stewart already said. If it was an xj40 as pictured in this thread it would have had square headlights. I guess you are mistaken with the x300 or it was not a real Daimler or the lights were exchanged.

I the jaguar has it spot on with the xf. They need to get some younger buyers instead of competing with the blue rinse bus passes. The xf is stunning in the metal, it handles great and it looks nice and young. Will bring some younger buyers to jaguar. I was at the public unveiling in Milton Keynes and besides the usual blah blah old folk there were many twenty somethings.

Then again I am biased for my wife, roll on may for a premium luxury tractor with b&w soundsystem.   purely for the schoolrun to downsize and be more Eco friendly compared to the murano

Nice car, but it's got the wrong shape bonnet and lights, should be round lights, like all good Jags

Oh no,that's how you recognise it is a true sovereign or Daimler. This is from the time that the round lights equals entry level model....

Although the interior would stop me from having one again, they are still the most comfortable and best handling car I have driven of the big saloons on the horribly bumpy english country roads...

I think they've done a very good job in modernising the design elements into the new car. It definitely felt inclosed like a jag in the front and comfortable in the back. Combined with quite sporty handling when required and oh-so-smooth at the same time....

I like the Omega rwd/handling, but finish wise it just is not in the same category as BMW/Jaguar/Mercedes

I love the S-type and the New XF, just don't have the money for the New XF

Prior to the XF they didn't do anything do me, but now oh yes! And it drives very nice as well......
