Camskill to name but one.

Asda Tyres also seem to offer a better choice than Black circles currently.  :y

summer tyre thread perhaps ,then in 6 months of posts, we might have narrowed it down to 10 or so recommended brands/types  ;D
And the answer is still gong to be (from what is still available) Pilot Sport 4. End of.

 ;D

How much will I be paid to fit Michelins?

;D
225/55/16 are not listed  :-\  https://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/brands/michelin/pilot-sport-4
I don't want to buy even more wheels  :-X
Other tyre outlets available....

Camskill to name but one.

Asda Tyres also seem to offer a better choice than Black circles currently.  :y

But they don't list pilot sport 4 either in the 225/55/16

I suspect that the size is not available/manufactured ,only !7" elite wheels sizes

the offered  Michelin in 225/55/16 is Primacy 4

I'll probably just get  Pirelli Cinturato P7 again as fitted to my rears or Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 again

AFTER the ice- age*  ;D

just brought 4 Avon winter tyres and had them mounted on 16" CD ronals so there may not be an Ice age now

You can thank me later for the 6 month heatwave we have when i slap the winter wheels on  :D

After the abortion of a tyre that was Pilot Sport 2 and Pilot Sport 3, I would normally agree.

But Pilot Super Sport and Pilot Sport 4 are excellent tyres, right down to the legal limit.

You've never been able to get a PS4 in a 16" Omega size... Likewise the Continentals? that Gixer used to swear by.

The Omega 16" size is an uncommon size, and a pain to change from without having the capability to reprogram a load of ecus.

Whatever gives you that idea??? They're on Volvos, C&E class Mercs, big Renaults(that may not be a good indicator for common ;D ), Hondas, Audi A4&6, Citroens and BMWs. And others

All of the well known tyre brands still have them available.

I was aware they were used on poverty spec E39s and some E Class, but no experience of the others. Makes sense that they were more widely used.  ;)

OK, significantly less common than other sizes fitted to Omegas. And by todays standards, fairly uncommon.

The last time I bought tyres for my estate, the firm I normally use didn't have any 235/45 17s. His comment was that they were used on a few cars, so he only kept a pair in stock and had sold those the day before. He said I had a choice of 225/55 16s, as they're common.

I fitted 17" face lift rims to my MFL in place of the OE 16" .... tyres were then cheaper as they were easier to find.

Never had any problems getting any size tyres from our local tyre shop always within 48 hours, used them for over 30 years.
