Exhaust fume smell from heater fan
« on: 31 January 2008, 20:45:27 »

Every now and then I can swear I can smell exhaust fumes in my car, first I thought it is just the car in front, but then yesterday there was no other car around so it must be from mine....

It only really happens when I am still and idling or sometimes when slowing down slowly...

Any ideas?

Could well be oil on the exhaust, look for cam cover gasket leaks.

Is the exhaust a bit noisy at the moment? It could be blowing from the manifold.

Thanks there is some ideas there....I can smell a bit of oil after a long journey, but there is also a strange noise which I did not place earlier which could be the exhaust manifold ever so slightly....
