Purchased a lovely 530 M SPORT last night 09 plate all the toys , took it for a test drive and all was good , drove it home the 200 miles and was perfect, got into the car today and selected drive and had a very loud vibration from what seems by the gear selector, pull off and vibration stops , stopped a bit up the road and it was back , any ideas guys ?  now i know this is not a BMW forum but ther are some of the cleverest people ive ever known on this site with a wealth of knowledge about most cars so im just throwing it out there

Thanks

General Discussion Area / Deposit on a car
« on: 01 September 2013, 00:05:23 »
Evening guys for those that are still awake :)

I won a car last night on ebay and paid the £300 deposit for it as described to hold the car,  went to pick up the car ,  over 200 miles away and it was no where near as described,    It was described as immaculate and not a single blemish,   Turned up to find 5 dents on roof ,  few on the doors,  front bumper not lined up ,   advertised with xenons and had normal bulb headlights,   advertised with led door handle lights ,  none fitted ,  at this point we said it wasnt for us and at a cost of £70 fuel we headed back home,     Now the big question i want to as you guys is that will i get my £300 deposit back,    He said he would refund it no problem as soon as he got home and have now just text me saying he cant until monday ,   so alarm bells are already ringing with him being dishonest as not describing the car truthfully ..

What do i do next guys as im reading conflicting advice saying i will get it back and some saying i wont as paypal dont do refunds on motor vehicles

Cheers guys

General Discussion Area / cable anti tangle
« on: 14 January 2013, 22:24:24 »
Hi guys,    I've been working for sky tv for a few years and as i use cable reels everyday to run from dish to customers room have always suffered with the dreaded cable tangle and then you have to go up and down the ladder to untangle,    Does anyone know of such a device out there that eliminates this as i know there are a few engineers on this site,

These are the types of cable reel stands we use

General Discussion Area / SETTLE A LONG STANDING ARGUMENT
« on: 27 October 2011, 18:37:33 »
Guys i hope u can help as ive had an ongoing argument with a friend of mine who is somewhat a bit of a storyteller,

It all started when i asked a mate who has a mate to ply line my vivaro,   He quoted me a ridiculous price and when i had it fitted cheaper elswhere this is when it all kicked off,

His friend turned up with my mate for a curry one night and we was talking about this and that and what kinda money a van ply liner takes home,   He has been working witha company called van fit for about 5yrs but has been doing his own thing for about 2 yrs so 7 in total

He told us that he takes home £800 a week !!! Thats take home pay!!!! so im guessing by the time he buys the ply and whatever else he needs plus the running costs of a van for travelling and paying tax,  stamps fuel , bla bla bla he must be on about 60k,

Now this guy laughed his ass off when i told him i was on 30k before stopages and this wage wouldnt get him out of bed,  cheeky t>>t

So i would love to know if hes talking the talk or talking the bull
