Title: midlands meet, chasewater railway sunday 17th july
Post by: foundationsedge on 30 May 2011, 11:43:11
http://www.chasewaterrailway.co.uk/

ok this is the venue as suggested by lee (wellung666) for the next midlands omega meet, will make contact with them to check if its ok to go ahead with the meet.
there dosnt seem to be an entrance fee, but to ride on the trains costs are £3.45 for adults, kids OAP,S £2,45, £8,45 for a family ticket.
no special events seem to be planned for any sunday in july, just the steam trains running.
we will need to set the date asap, firstly to confirm with the venue, and also so people can check there availability.
 there are 5 sundays in july, the 3, 10, 17, 24, 0r 31st
probably best if i add a poll for the date,
if you are interested please add a reply below, with youre prefered date,(S)
 thankyou

Would be interested in turning up to this venue.

Mind you, that's if I still have my Mig then, as with how things are going at work at the moment with cut-backs, I could be laid off soon  :-/.  And if that happens, won't be able to afford to run it, so it'll have to go  :'(.

May just get one meeting in before the axe falls??

3, 10 or 17 should be good for me.  On holiday for the last week of July so the two either side are a no go.

Post by: foundationsedge on 02 June 2011, 11:59:01

well good news, have spoken to chasewater railwa with regards to holding the next meet there, and they have said its ok to go ahead.
there is no charge for using there car park, there are refreshments and toilet facilitys availiable and if we want we can get a group booking discount on the train fares.

however, any date in july is ok EXCEPT THE 10TH .
i need to let them know by the 15th of june when we will be holding this meet.

i,m not able to alter the poll, so will pm admin to get it altered, if possible, i need to confirm on the 15th so all votes in by the 13th of june please

 thankyou, gordon

As said before, would be interested in turning up to this venue.

If I still have my Mig then, work are cutting back and I could be laid off soon so having to sell the car.
Mind you I may just get one meeting in before the axe falls?  Unless of course a member buys it off me before  ::)

Unfortunately I am probably going to have to give this one a miss now.  MOT is due on 15th (will need a few bits done if I can't get them done in advance) and on holiday the week after that so need to preserve as much cash as possible.

sorry folks, but due to prolonged quiet period at work and a severe lack of funds, i,m having to take my car off the road for a couple of months because i cant afford the ridiculous renewal premium at the moment.
  :'(
so i will not be able to attend this meet, however theres no reason why the rest of you cant carry on wthout me.
the venue is still confirmed and i will call them a week before hand to give them expected turnout numbers, of those who still wish to go ahead.
  :-/ :y

Bugger.....

Mig failed its MOT test today, so won't be able to make it in the Mig.

Got alternative method of getting there, but unfortunately won't be the same attending mig-less  :'( .

Hope I'm not the only one that does turn up if others change their mind  ::)
