Washed it. Hosed down, bucket of warm water and some Fairy Liquid, then hosed it again. Plenty good enough for a 12 year old Vectra.  ;D

27 mpg from mine, will let you know what it does on a run when I get the opportunity  ::)
Come on, put some effort in.  I've been known to average only a couple of mpg more than that over a whole tank in the tractor pussy.

The Omega had a whole day of a low charge rate yesterday.  Although it showed no symptoms, I think the charge level was quite low, as its doing <3m journeys currently.

Battlebus on the electricity today.  That's not moved an inch in the last 5 or 6 weeks :D

Nearside taillight had a crack in it, which was letting in water, screwing up the taillight bulb warning and flooding the nearside cubby when it rains.

Second hand are around £50 and new start around £100, but had a right result and found a pair of brand new, albeit aftermarket, facelift ones for under £100 which arrived today...

So two boxes ticked, upgraded rear lights and water leak cured.

I don't manage much more on my commute from a diesel, and its not like a drive fast due to traffic.  In fact, the speed is too slow to get any economy - most days before lockdown, I never got above 30mph ever, even though nearly half is a 60 limit, and nearly the other half is a 50.

Don't these pricks know if you get it between 45 and 55, that's a better sweet spot for economy, or just opps off out of the way, because life is too short to be stuck behind these self-abusers?

They key, I guess, is to keep the torque converter locked up, so perhaps manually select a lower gear to keep the rpm a smidge above lock up :-\

Obviously in the absence of being allowed to blow ditheres out of the way ::)

even in lockup, its still too slow to be economical. And the speed is too eratic.  And sitting at junctions/roundabouts having to wait for rush hour to finish before they will pull out

My commute has none of those things at the moment and its wonderful. Welsh hatchback claims to be doing 68mpg at the moment, and Im taking the Omega sometimes just for the pleasure of driving it on quiet roads.
Im sure it wont be too long before its all back to normal though, and the mpg  goes down with the blood pressure going up.
