So from 1st October, if there is an under 18 present in the vehicle you are not allowed to smoke - its actually illegal...
Illegal for whom, the driver? So one can assume that if the "under 18" is smoking it`s legal?

You have to be 18 to smoke tobacco products in the UK nowadays Rob.  :y

18 to buy. No minimum age to smoke, but the police can confiscate tobacco products from under 16`s in a public place with no recompense for the owner

Aged ten or eleven we used to buy cigarettes in  school uniform.

The man behind the counter was quite happy to break open a pack and sell us individual fags.......for a price. :y

As I've said before, and got berated by the do-gooder brigade, I have issues with authorities banning certain non offensive practices in public places.

However, I do believe smoking whilst driving should be made an offensive. I find it odd I can get pulled for tucking into a warm pie, but not for swerving all over the road in an attempt to get 700C fag ash out of my gentlemens region.

Actually, if I'm honest, I'm not a big pie man. Now a nice pasty...  ...esp a medium steak one from Philps in Cornwall...  ...but I do have to stop to eat, as I can get a bit messy ;D

Maccy D 89p handhelds make for easy eating, plus you can have 3 or 4 for price of a big mac. Obviously like all macdonalds, they taste a bit shite, but convenient if you can't stop, and want a chat with 'arry Law...
