Suspension Knock
« on: 16 August 2006, 10:12:37 »

I have been getting the usual knocking noise from the droplinks, but I noticed last night when you push the passenger side of the car down at the front the shock absorber brings the car back to level but as you push down I am getting a nice clonking noise.

Would I be right to assume its the wishbone, possible bush failure if this is the case I will need to get it sorted ASAP as my MOT is up for renewal soon.

Any advice is much appreciated

Cheers
Roy

So I maybe lucky shall try a new set of droplinks first to see what happens, when the funds are there.

I actually had the wishbones and droplinks replaced at the beginning of last year so sounds like the droplinks have done well all considered.

I had a look at the wishbones and to me they dont look in bad condition.

I may try unbolting the top bolt of the droplink and seeing if it still clonks when being pushed downwards.

Haven't done the test as yet but am keen to get it sorted can anyone recomemnd the best place for droplinks.

Autovaux I know about but was wondering if there was anyone else thats also recommended.

I bought a set from a motor factor called Webbs at one time but they have changed names and only do tools now.

Any Suggestions would be most appreciated.

FAI so not bad quality.

I would like to thank Mark DTM for the recommendation  :)

Fitted them just before its MOT and have been noticing a few differences since being done ie no knocking at slow pace over rubbish road surfaces and also for some reason I no longer have the brake shudder when slowing down from 70+.

The seller was good the item came well packed so no damage.
