another gear box prob

hi guys i was speaking to a guy today that was having problems with his 3.0 elite. he said that his car would just die in drive but was ok in 1st 2nd and 3rd. i dont know much about the autobox can any of you help?..ta :y

Possibly a g/box fault - I've heard of faults where the torque converter lock up function 'sticks' sometimes.

Don't know enough about autoboxes to comment further...

yup same here..  im sure  he said something about a gearbox warning light coming on. i told him it may need a service but maybee its more serious than that...

If he's had a gearbox warning, there will be a code stored which any specialist can read...

First step with any autobox fault like that is to do an oil (and ideally filter) change. Cures many problems.
