Windscreen /Windshield.
« on: 20 June 2017, 14:03:56 »

 ;D

Anyway.
Had the usual crack from the lower drivers corner which is now spreading up the A post.

Question is:

1. Is there different types?

2:Do i need any bit of trim before getting it done?

3: Is there variations in quality?

The reason for question 3 is that i usually use a local company, but as the last few i seen after time have either leaked or seem to chip really easily.

(There is no insurance provision.)

If you're paying for it go independent. Trims consist of four frame pieces and two rubber trims, might be available from Vx.

You should probably deal with the rust causing the crack whilst the screen is out, otherwise it will keep cracking ;)

There will no doubt be some corrosion there, especially under the screen. If you're dealing with an independent and want the job doing properly, it might be worth an initial visit from them to just remove the screen, and then you can carry out any repairs before a second visit to fit new.
