I think the vx tool is a bracket that bolts to the crank pulley, and is then anchored to the alternator bracket. I have seen home made tools that anchor to the ac bracket bolt, or long handled items simply heald by hand to oppose the undoing torque of the breaker bar.

300nm so leverage is key I'd guess. (Having never done one) but needs researching as to the correct method, as all the force is going through the pulley to the crank via a key way. Either the key or the key way could, in theory, be damaged, depending on the engine and construction methods used.

Master or someone more knowing will be along hopefully. But given the right tools and info, it's most certainly doable. If it was made it can be unmade. ....hopefully without breaking it. ;D

I will have to look up the bolt torque setting..I dont think 250Nm is right. You do need a new bolt....you can feel the bolt stretch as you put the angle tightening

I think I would make a tool (like the tool Matchless made) & try to undo the bolt but if it didn't undo first attempt I would be cutting the head off the bolt before I broke anything.

What's the part number for the genuine tool?

Not sure the factory workshop tools are available under the normal part numbers. Are they? :-\ would ther be a part number for the cam belt locking kit, for example... ?
