The glass is perfectly ok but the rain sensor is not working. When I set the switch in the automatic position (marked "--" in the switch) it makes 2 sweeps and then it makes another 2 sweeps every 5 second or so. The 2 sweeps pattern keeps on forever regardless of the presence of water, so it seems that either the sensor is not working or the car has decided to ignore it for some reason. It has always worked flawlessly, and it was working couple of days ago, so I'm positive that the problem came with the windshield replacement.

Today I brought the car back to the workshop and they haven't been able to make it work. The have removed and reconnected the sensor, removed the battery, the fuse controlling the wipers a a few things more. There were no sensor related errors registered.

They are going to order a new sensor, but maybe the issue is not the sensor but the glass of some other glitch. I'm thinking the problem is the glass itself, which seems a bit darker than the old one (and says "Solar tint", which the old didn't).

I have the same problem. I replaced mine last year and I couldn't find (order) original windshield with UV protection. Next best option was regular glas  (slightly tinted greenish like rest of them) but sensor now works as you described..

This is my 12th Omega too (but I newer had more than two at the same time  ;D )
I had all the petrol ones ( except V8 unicorn ) This 2.5 common rail with manual gearbox is the best option all things considered (fuel consumption, performance, reliability...) My idea was to tune this M57 a little bitb closer to BMW e60 version, and maybe convert this 5 speed to 6 speed..

We cowered 800km for winter holidays. I had some cold start issues, it turned out that 4 of 6 glow plugs where dead.
Average trip consumption was around 7L/100km. 80% was motorway at 130kph and rest was on mountain roads with this extremely aerodynamic roof rack borrowed from my late grandfather's Yugo 45 and this 220cm long box..

I changed glow plugs on my 2.5DTI. 3 were dead, other 3 were half dead  ;D
Somehow I managed do pool out tiny brake vacuum hose in the process, which almost resulted with close encounter with city bus ::)
I also adjusted drivers door handle (plastic screw adjuster inside) which din't open the door always.

Hi everyone new member in Dublin.
I had intermittent electrical fault with the rev counter and speedometer not working. My Opel garage where I get it serviced could not resolve the problem.  I found a firm in Leicester called Autotronics who said it was a common fault and they replaced a microprocessor and said all ok.
My garage put the repaired cluster back in this morning  but two dials still not working properly. I have called Autotronics and they will get back to me after talking with engineer. My car was bought new in 2003 and I have maintained it very well. Any advice would be much appreciated as both myself  and my garage are at a loss on what to do next.
John.
Hello and welcome!
My money's on faulty cluster- poor repair job. I had similar problem on mine 2.5DTI. Try to get your hands on another used cluster. Beware to mach your engine and gearbox type :y

Very nice indeed!
May I suggest replacing those yellow turn signals with clear ones?

I'we done some work. Omega got new windscreen with rain sensor, I changed rear brake and handbrake pads with oil change and system flush.
She has been M.O.T.-ed for another year.
I still need to do regular oil and filter change, and she is ready for road trip to Adriatic coast..

Been there a year ago. Good luck with repairs, she's definitely worth it! Check that bulkhead area around steering column also.

I agree. I't looks like we'll finally  have 3 teams battling for title. Merc will get better during season, as usual, but they are not as dominate as in previous 8 seasons. Bad luck for RB, but that LEC/WER battle was great, I was just worried that Dutch cruising missile could do something dangerous, but he showed maturity.

It's early to say, Leclerc is maybe little bit faster, but as you say Sainz is more consistent. I just hope Ferrari will let them race equally without team interference . It would be great to see battle between three or even four teams and they drivers.
Did anyone else noticed that Bottas is smiling again after long, long time? Great performance in qualifications btw..

So, if Hamilton isn't wining everybody else is cheating?  ::)
Mercedes ''spaceship''mirrors for example are confirmed legal. in past decade they had FIA protection more than all other teams  combined.
British fair play?? Like 2021 Silverstone lap one high speed crash at Copse Corner for example?
As a Ferrari fan, i honestly hope they made a competitive car this year. After strong qualification i hope Leclerc and Sainz can perform good tomorrow.
I would also like to see Mick catching some points.
I understand that Lewis is one of yours, but lets bee honest. All things considered, he‘s success came as a result of driving the fastest car.
As Kimi once said

Oil leak finally detected:

While changing the seal I'll also rebuild a clutch plate.
