AC Filler Valve Leakage

(1/2) > >>

polilara:
Had today AC-service (Y26SE), checking leaks and changing the refrigerant liquid etc. All ok except we found that the lower filling valve in front of the car started to leak.

Took a closer look and found that the leaking one has not a Filler Valve (inner part) like the other in the rear. So in rear the valve is like a tyre valve or like part No. 6 in the enclosed pic. But the front one is just a hole. In the hole there is something which you can push and increase the leakage but leak does not stop when releasing. Acc. to 7zap I seem to have construction referred as part 2. I guess that in this construction the separate inner part really does not exist. Any experience about this? In the plastic protection gap there is a rubber seal, If I tighten it I think that the leak stops. Strange, do I need the whole Part 2 or did I understand this in a wrong way?

Jim82:
You can replace the valve on its own, I think it's discussed on this forum somewhere.

Here's a link to the part available from Amazon:

biggriffin:
You can buy High side valves on eBay for £5.00,, the LP looks like a std tyre valve but uses a different seal, the seals are normally green.

polilara:
Hi, and thanks for comments, so...

1. Can I screw the valve informed by Jim82 directly to the existing one or do I have to replace the old one with it?
2. For biggriffin's idea I need perhaps some explanation or is the High Pessure valve just the valve Jim82 proposed, hope you can provide a link, this all is new for me...
