Meanwhile back in the car world---------- Managed to weld the section of Omega door with window motor into the Austin door , powered it up and its in line with glass tracks. Only thing is it goes to low, spot of weld on the gear should work as a stop.
Wrist pin retainer and I suspect a chunk of piston, that circlip is not working its way past the piston without damage and the little end pin will be rubbing on the bore scoring it. Strip down time.
The amount of crap I used to remove would make you gasp, one car had so many "toys" on the dash it would have failed on vision as well as all the beads and stuff hanging off the mirror.
Made the other rear corner interior panel from fibre glass, I hate that stuff. Fumes made my eyes sore and my hand itch, Have to trim it today. 1mm disc in the angle grinder works !
D asked for a hand with a 307cc roof, it got stuck in open mode. We tried to close it by hand but you needed to be Geoff Capes to lift it , well 2 old farts with bad backs didnt cut it! What a bar steward , I worked out one of the catches not releasing. All worked by cables but it needs more trim removing to see what is what.
WEll if you eat from the Kabambulance what do you expect. I used to MOT an old ambulance converted to a mobile burger bar and that was what it was named, it was never going to rust due to the burger fat covering everything. Bloody back killing me this morning----------
Yes and I have worked on all of them. I use the same factors I have done since 96, name and owner change and now part of Alliance network, yes they are shit now.
Have been making the rear corner interior panels for the Austin out of fibre glass, I hate that stuff but its working. Trouble was I drove the 6 miles to my unit and put another 2 layers on the one I made yesterday and then drove back home, a lot of distance for 2 hrs work----------
