Hi there Shark1e on the reception when I had my mondeo I used to get most the way to derby before starting to loose Signal1 but since having my 2.5 estate which has outside aerial I now only get to uttoxeter before starting to loose ,dont think it helps that signal is 206 freq and ram fm in derby is 208 maybe the standard radio dont filter very well and ram bleads over signal.

The rear window aeriel is NOT all that good apparently.
The reception on my previous Mig was aweful.

The new Elite had a bee sting installed and it works a treat.

Thank you bud....I wait with baited breath. I have a sneaky feeling the X07 won't work correctly....there appear to be too many Ford specific connectors on it.

Tell me...Behind your radio how many connectors did you have. I assume two almost identical which went in to the Xplod. Was there a third connector (20 pin) and did you have anything to plug in to it ? Mine remines empty ??

mine has three also like you explained,

ok update on which connections from halfrauds,
it is the...... wait for it wait for it ............ PC99-X06 and works perfect,

I Have full use of on board computer i.e trip average, mpg average, outside temp, brake light check, fuel distance left, everything as before on top display line,
when sony is off i have date in full format in middle display line, BUT once it's on then it's blank where the date was until tured off again.
bottom row still has clock running,

so basically all is well and works fine,

now my investigation if i'm right is that the last mutli block that has nothing to fit in it from the original radio, is only used for the traffic mate signal from the radio RDS etc, this can be also connected via another autoleads Traffic Master PC9-350 , i have not bothered as i won't be using it anyway.

anyone who needs any further help just let me know.

Ok..thats good to hear.
Hopefully then, as soon as we change the display back to a MID type then mine too will work.

So all your used was the PC99-X06 and throughout, the computer has worked from the right hand stalk.

Super duper !

Sorry. I said it was the time that disapears when I should have said date.

The fact that your middle line goes off is a good sign because it shows that the Autolead is correctly powering up the aerial amplifier.

If you want to get the date to display continuously then you need to get someone with Tech2 to re-code your MID.

nice one for the tech2 reprogramme info,  not really bothered with date as its on when the headunits off,

this tech2 i pressume is laptop software i guess, but what cables would you use to hook it up?

i have been given a double cd with software that comes up with diagnostis regarding tech2 but not having cables i don't now how it works,

duggs yes mate just the PC99-X06 from halfrauds at £29.90 or off Flea-Bay for £18 + postman pat and all controlled from right stalk.

I meant the Vauxhall tool (about £2500 I believe).

This guide explains the different code readers far better than I can http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1236032406

cool thanks , already seen the fleabay usb type, is there cheap versions to allow remapping etc mate who i got the motor off said he had it chipped by his mate and was quicker off the mark no turbo lag, but was too manic for him so had it put back to normal, i wonder if i can get it remapped or chipped cheaply to reduce the lag as seems a bit flat to me,

No, its a standalone unit that dealers use.

In duggs case, he needs a new display - he has a display that is designed to be driven directly from a specific radio.

Mines all sorted at last...Jamie, TheBoy, is a blinkin' genius. Was a honour to see a master at work.

NOT straight forward as it turned out....but unphased, he continued on and after a bit of rewiring and soldering, I have, at long last, got a working display.

Many thanks once again Jamie...
