Ive just aquired an omega elite it had no stereo fitted on purchase just the ISO ends sticking out, so out with a fully working sony stereo, plumed it all in and it power up but no sound??? tried another stereo still no sound but power, tried another connection lead between the stereo and the car connectors still no sound? there seem to be 3 ends coming out of the dash and the sony end seems to only have 2 could it be that???  tried all ways but now cheesed off with it.....   >:(

Do you have the BOSE system in the car? Subs on rear shelf?

If so, your Sony may not be compatable with them.

If not, then you will need to check the speaker connection in the middle plug, and connect them one at a time, as a faulty speaker may also cause the stereo to shut down.

Top block seldom used with aftermarket stereos

Deep breath Bob ;)

Have a look on the speaker grills for a Bose badge.

Are there any markings on the bottom of the rear shelf speakers (from inside the boot)?

Well taken most of the dash out today to get some access, did the Lights in my heater controls (spares from changing the ones in my mrs car) Looked all around the wires I cant see anything dodgy, speakers in the boot have no markings on them certainly not BOSE anyhow. wired the radio direct to the back speaker with a long length of wire and hurraahh sound, so speaker (well that one) seems fine.

Put the speaker output wires from the stereo direct into the connector in the car not a wisper, split a wire behind the connector and tried again (thinking it maybe connector) again nothing!

Car has 3 ISO type connectors aftermarket stereo on has 2?? also looking at the connectors in the car the wires are not coloured the same as the ones on the aftermarket stereo wiring???

Looked in the fuse box and in the cars manual, says fuse 10 is blank in the manual mine has a fuse in remove this stereo goes off???? put fuse back in stereo comes back on no sound but powers on and off....

fuse 6 shows picture of a speaker on the fusebox door?? but that fuse is ok???

Last owner had a sony stereo in it reports no problem when he removed the stereo????

So am i going mad??????????????????? Or do i just drive in silence???

Check the plug behind the kickplate in the drivers footwell. Big long black connector, just make sure it's plugged it firmly.
