I finally got to take out the radio which in itself was a little difficult however i persevered and it came out i sent it on to a firm recommended by a local radio lad they came back to me and said they have a lot of experience with this unit (I hope So) send it to them if its only the Sat Nav does not need to be divorced their words im sure they  meant De-paired.
I did this and got a reply saying that the Lazer had expired again their words and as the lazers cannot be got it would need the full mechanism c/w Pickup cost would be 216.50 + vat and these have to be got from Holland wow says I.
However they have just emailed me saying unit is being dispatched all is now well with it and working i said how can you tell if its not depaired they said we can get round that and it as 6month warranty. so I await in trepidation.
Now down to my query with you learned people does the unit just slide back in as the electric contacts on left Ariel on right is there any tips i.e bias on the right or left to engage all the contacts.
thanks

Lasertrader is the place to get them. The one I fitted in one of mine has been fine, worth checking with SP32 how his one is going.

Just been reading this thread with much interest!!  ;D

The single slot in my 2013 seems to be working find, but I'm sure the laser in the changer is on its way! So dare I ask...

Which one is this wonderful new replacement laser from Germany for??  :-/

Sorry to go off topic but this (like most American idiot spellings) annoys the **** out of me.

It's laSer- an acronym:

Light
Amplification by
Stimulated
Emmission of
Radiation
