In my defence it did say "fits Omega"
Thanks for that Steven, and is that the tall yellow one under the bonnet, K8?

My thought s are with you.
We to have had boxers since, ooh, I don't know when.
Always hard when a dog passes on but I feel especially so with boxers as they are always puppy mad right up until the very end.
Your yungun will cope and bounce right back, our's did in a very similar situation.

Sad times. But I will bet you will be able to remember all the madcap things that Ollie got up to in his memorable life. That'll make you smile.

753 Steve.

Rob g, handy link ta but not showing windscreen washer relay or was that intended so as not to confuse SWMBO with under bonnet stuff!?!? ::)

A new relay for the wipers has arrived
Make your mind up, washers or wipers
Sorry Rob, was only looking at descriptions of 6 cyl diesels and missed K8 from previous descriptions and yes it is for intermittent wipers. Does the K8 do all, wash and wipe?
Think I made a boob on the order from flea bay! Doh!

90191753 and yeah the wiper relay.
Symptoms were, intermittent function would stop, go to standard speed and back again and it would be OK for a while. Then you had to go to fast speed and back to intermittent to get them to wipe intermittently, if you get what I mean. Passed MOT last week but now (according to SWMBO) they have packed up altogether!
Yeah, I know I should have sorted it when first spotted but ran out of time and it was Xmas an all that.
Good to hear your doing fine buddy.

Sorry for delay in answering, a friend called up and said I'm in the bar, fancy a couple of cold ones!

Dunno Steve,  :D
I ordered it from flea bay to be delivered to Forfar.
Me, hah, I'm in sunny Spain enjoying a mini heat wave.
I'll check the order and get back to you mate.

How the devil are you anyway?

Omega General Help / Windscreen wiper relay

Yes I know and apologise in advance for not searching but, time is of the essence here.
I am not with the car, SWMBO is.
A new relay for the wipers has arrived and she needs to fit it.
Please, pretty please, a location of said relay (exactly, with no ambiguity) so precise instructions can be forwarded and the offending item replaced.
Once again I apologise for this  :-[ ( I really should know this shouldn't I)

Hello and welcome.
I am also in Spain, near Almeria.
Whereabouts are you?

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Re: Heated washer jet bonnet
« on: 27 January 2016, 21:10:47 »
There is a possibility that the heating element may have corroded inside the jet body.
I had this happen on my (much older) Carlton. Remedy was to take the internal gubbins out, clean it all out and then remake the heating element with a small bit of thin copper soldered onto the wire!
Of course, if you can buy new............. ::)

Omega General Help / Re: Can I swop doors on 2 PFL cars?
« on: 18 January 2016, 20:13:51 »
Helpful advice for me as well but just to clarify, can I swap doors from a FL to a PFL? Not worried about outside trim I just need doors that are rust free!

Jon

73
Right, I'll do just that for now, bit of tiger seal for the trim, the bumper is still fixed in place.
I had plans to bring  the car over here to dry out for a bit then tidy up the body before driving back with a trailer I have over here but can't use, looks like I will be doing just that in the new year then.
Thanks for your replies.

74
If, and that's a big if, the car were over here then I would probably attempt that.
I have no tools or premises over in the UK to even begin that, more's the pity.
But tell me, would that be an MOT failure, even if it was covered up with gaffer tape?

75
Really, that simple? I thought it would be quite difficult as the corrosion is on and just above the swage line for the trim.
Looks like I'll be stripping out the interior on that side as soon as I get back to Scotland.
