Speedo and Rev Counter Not Working
« on: 02 September 2007, 09:06:40 »

I seem to have an intermittant problem with my speedo and rev counter. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. The speedo seems to shake when it is not working. I have had a look through the tis 2006 manual and it is about as usefull as a chocolate teapot. Dont get me wrong it is usefull for some stuff must not this fault.

I have seen some people mention faults about the speedo but nothing about the rev counter. Is there two seperate sensors for these to displays. I would of thought so but i may be wrong.

Give the dash a good shove in between the two clocks to make sure the push fit conector is fully home ;)
If that fails i suspect the dash itself to be faulty as its all electronic :(

Remember the dash units vary by age and engine, and are not really interchangable...

Hi

Cheers for the different suggestions. I dont hink its an earth fault or the connector as the other day i noticed that when the speedo and rev counter decided to work that when i turned the ignition off the speedo was jumping. At the moment it is not working. Can some one tell me where the signal for the sppedo and rev counter comes from. I thought it came from the abs control unit first.

Does anyone have and electrical schematic of the system. I have access to the tis2006 manual but is to vague.

I was wondering if the ignition was not resetting something like a control unit. I have no engine management fault light or any other ones come on.

Speed comes from ABS, tacho from engine ecu
