Got mine from ebay for a tenner, parts nos didnt match exactly so was expecting issues along with some tech 2 involvement but all seems well.
Some older units may have been thru the BBa reman repair mill already.

Repairs.

BBA REMAN down south (Kent? ) Have a google
ECU testing in Nottingham

I have replaced a few over the years and concluded that given the effort you are better off getting your unit repaired. About £120. Takes several days including post. All the S/H ones out there are nearing end of life(in my opinion) so whilst you might save £70 you might be doing the job again in six months.

There is a good how to in the guides on the site.

If you go S/H if it is off a similar vehicle and auto if yours is auto then you should be alright......

ECU Testing Nottingham Heanor

I used them about five years ago. Including return postage to UK address and a two year guarantee I think it was £135 . So I would expect it to be not much short of BBA ReMan 's quote now. I suspect anyone else will be a similar amount too. They are businesses after all.

Your alternative is to put a secondhand one off a similar vehicle. At least having done it once IF you have to do it again , it will be considerably easier the second time. maybe put a wanted ad on the forum?

ECU testing charge £100 plus £8.90 return postage with VAT to be added on top.

BBA reman have always been a bit pricy in my opinion.

Lifetime warranty
