Losing your contacts is the biggest pain. It is not just your phone, you can drop the sim when transferring it from the phone to the Vx car radio and then run it over moving the electric seat back where it is on the seat runner, not that I've ever done that of course. :-X :-[ :-[ :-[

I have an I phone and used the "find my phone" app when it dropped out of my bag without me realising.
It sent me an email with an address and postcode.
I went to the address and asked about it, but it was an old couple. They suggested next door. Spoke to a pleasant woman who said she knew nothing but would ask her son when he came home.
She phoned me later to go and collect my phone - result!!
Only 2 days without it but it was strange without it  ;D

I am "only" 46 and have not engaged with the new phone technology at all, I take days to reply to texts on my Nokia N96 and moan when my phone rings.  In fact when my network telesales called me last week to try and get me to go onto a contract they could not match my £20 per year outlay with any contract and gave up trying to convert me.  My company mobile stays in the glovebox of the car when I leave the office and I never listen to voicemails.

I have an Iphone 4 at home I use to look at emails, no sim in it just connected to the WiFi.

So if mine went missing I would not be that bothered - in fact I would be delighted :)

For personal use, I can/could manage very well without it. You just need to be a bit more organised and think more. I always find it bizarre that someone has to call from inside a supermarket to discuss which of something to buy " Oh, they don't have Brand X shall I get Brand Y ?", stupid people MAKE A DECISION !

However, for work my phone is essential, completely and totally. In the days before mobile phones I had a pager, you could get a message but then you needed to find a phone box to do anything about it.

But if the husband had bought Brand Y instead, the wife would have said .... 'why didn't you buy Brand Z' he'd have been wrong what ever he bought  ;D ;D ;D
