Twenty odd years ago, I sailed with Hong Kong Chinese crew on merchant ships.  Brilliant blokes, willing workers and all had a wicked sense of humour.

One Bosun had the name (excuse the English typing) of Wun Fuk Ti (no kidding  ;D )

But the chap could see perfectly well!!

OK

This has been covered a few times before but, given the problems that our resident computer literate Spanner Twirlers (The Boy and N.E One Else) has keeping the site afloat, its perhaps time to raise it once again.

I know and remember in part the reasons for the migration that created this site from its previous incarnation.

We mainly agree with the ethos that info is and should be free.

Further, I have also recently experienced a fair splat of problems, like others, with viewing this site over the past few days and, like others, initially blamed my ISP (BTInternet) and reinstalled software like a token sacrificial Bill Gates programmer, to no avail....

But....

If it means parting with a few sheckels to assist in the funding of hard/software to keep the site going, I would be more than willing to put my hand into my electronic pocket to assist.  I cannot provide any computer technical knowledge (already said where my strengths lie) but would willingly pay for the continued entertainment (and educational) value this site provides.

It is appreciated that I will probably be ripped to bits for, yet again, suggesting a membership fee but if thats one way to readily assist then, to me, no problem.

And longer term, could allow us trade Club status in our own right (after the year etc) rather than shell out elsewhere?   :-/

Just my tuppence......

Good Call, EP!!  Better a volunteer than a pressed man, as the saying goes!

Now on the upside of 400 members so, say, 250 requests at 2 each, minimum order of 500?  not far of the reasonable?

The really scarey thing is that most of them are probably true    :o

Certainly some of the comments I have heard after accidents could have come from a similar scriptwriter   ;D

I couldn't be ars*d fiddling with the catch and so, in a fit of desperation & frustration, used a couple of bits of black double sided tape (the kind to affix trim bits to the exterior) on the right side of the open box.  Theres just enough 'stickieness' to ensure it stays shut without breaking a nail to force it open.

Worked for me anyway....   :y

........Just noticed exhaust front pipes, and to quote it says 3.2 (police) LH Retail £624 TC £495  :o
Apart from the shocking price, did 3.2 police omegas have a different front pipes setup then??

AFAIK the front pipes on Police spec were heavier guage and (possibly) double skinned, in case the beastie grounded or skelped a kerb or similar.  Apart from that, no difference.    :-/

Ran a Triumph 2.5 PI for a while - a real hoot, as we are talking only 5 or so years ago.

Really pi**ed off the Golf/XR3/similar hot hatch/converted crowd to be sh*t upon by an old sledge that was being driven to within an inch of its life!!

Bit like a 'Meega, I suppose.....   :-?

mines is called beastie  8-)

errr the MV6 not the wife  :o

Mark - must be a Scots thing, 'cos mine is also called Beastie.....

On the bottom of the number plate, it reads 'beware, the big black beastie'.

Mainly because its bigger than most cars, is black and, being a beastie, can scare the beejesus out of me if I'm not carefull!!   ;D

ps - the wife don't wear no number plates but, on all other counts, could well refer to her as well, but don't tell her I said so......   :-X
