Cambelt and water pump needs changing 27,800 miles ago!  :o
If it has a full history, it should have been done at 40k/2005 (40k/4year interval)

Get it done ASAP!

It would be a shame to lose this car for the sake of a cambelt. It needs doind NOW!

Footnote: I wish people would find our luvverly forum before they buy :(

I would get it done, I've not long bought mine with 73k & FSH but no record of the belt having been done.

It was done last week & the tensioners were in a sorry state, seems not all dealers know about 4yrs/40k  ::)

Make sure GM parts are used and the KIT is changed, NOT just the belt. Make sure the tensioners are done as well!!

Don't let them leave them because they 'look' ok  :y

For the extra £30 or so you should do the water pump aswell but as Tunnie says use genuine parts:y

Have the pump changed anyway, no matter how it looks to them. Who knows what happens in 40k, with the engine stripped down that far, might as well do the water pump for the sake of 30 quid!

Its recommended that the water pump be changed every second cambelt change which should be 80,000 miles and your no that far off that now :y

Agreed - get the pump done - total peace of mind then!
