Not had corrosion to deal with since I sold my 1982 Ford Cortina! Is this weld a patch over? Or cut sections out and replace?

I've read lots about this on the V6 engines and the solution of moving the Lambda sensor.
Does this apply to the 2.2? Or is my CAT stuffed?
It had HG failure about 9 months ago, so could be a delayed reaction to that?

Its all free other than the attachment to the central tie rod - I can't shift it!

Suggested setup:
Front:
Camber: -1deg 40' both sides
Caster: 5deg both sides
Toe: 0deg 10'
Rear:
Camber -1deg 50'
Toe: 0deg 25'
I think from reading on here these are the VX values and I should ask for less Camber on the front, -1deg 10'? I have sent a PM to WIM but as the work is being done in the morning thought I'd ask the panel.

Pop outside to see someone leaving at high speed having modified by wing mirror for me!
So I'm lucky the side of the car is ok I guess, but is it so hard to stop and leave a note or find the owner!

Omega General Help / 2.5 very reluctant to start in this cold weather

Normally starts fine, but been a little hesitant in the cold over Christmas. This morning had to go out early and it was -4. I thought it wasn't going to start at all, cranking ok but just not catching. Once it did go (5 mins of intermittent attempts) sounded like it was not running rich as you would expect. Once going all ok.
Anything obvious to look for?
