So my lights were doing strange things, I've popped it off and cleaned with contact cleaner. All looks good now, before I started it was all smothered in grease. Should I put some back? What type?

I'd put silicone grease back in

+1 I cleaned mine out and never repacked it. I have since noticed the ac leaks on it or very close to it so a job that needs doing

Im going to maplin for dielectic grease

Is vaseline/petroleum jelly as good/substitute?

Thank you all, I used a small amount of Keenol as its what I has at 8pm in the rain when I realised the car was stopping my closing the garage door 

It's not fixed the problem, but if it stops raining today I will check the adjustment again.

If not its new switch time I guess, are they VX only?

Surely a known good one is perfectly fine. There's any number of AR25s in people's back yards, having been replaced for AR35s... all perfectly serviceable, no doubt? Can imagine a new switch being a fair few pennies

So cleaning the selector made it worse, so I thought I know I'll pull the one off the 2.2 which is currently off the road. That does not work either, did so fine when tested before removal.

Any thoughts? I shall pop the original from the 2.5 into the 2.2 AM to see east happens, but I'm meant to be driving to Exmore tomorrow.

3 Omegas and not one actually bloody working!

Any thoughts really appreciated

All ok this morning in every position when cold, drive around the block and other than D & N all the other positions switch all of the lights on.

Can the box itself cause these issues? Or ECU? Or does it have to be the selector switch?

Try and run it with no grease in at all also try and use an electrical contact cleaner

There's a guide in the relevant section. Use silicone grease from Maplin, or as it use to be called switch grease.
