I've got to send this thread back up to the top. Chris spent about two hours under my car last night and showed me what the garage had missed. Bit more to spend now but will be well worth it.
He also showed me just how fast a modified Omega can go. :D
Thanks a lot mate.

Very welcome Chris. It's a bit better but by no means perfect:

Have a look at this, wondering if you are interested in having a look.

Sounds flipping brilliant, but my insurance is already high and I scare easily :o

@Andy B: Thanks, if worst comes to worst I'll probably look at buying the car back and keeping all the nice bits for next car.

@cam2502: Yeah, that will be the same car as you saw on ebay. I didn't expect to win it and bid quite a lot higher than I won it for. Amazingly the only part I've had to replace is the Anti-roll bar link. Everything else seems spot on. Touch wood.

@Entwood: Cheers mate. The bumper looks alright, quick drill and screw and should be ok. It's hard to tell if the drivers door is creased or not but might get away with that. Just the bump bar on the door and wing, which I don't know if they are Irmscher or standard. And the wing is totalled. The alloy had marks anyway so I might just try to clean it up myself.
The insurance know about the bodykit though and hopefully that is all ok. You never know, might be alright. I'd rather accept the minor damage and get the wing and paint repaired than have the car written off.

Have a look for yourselves. I think it's rather nice.

Obviously this is before the tragic event.

The missus and bay are fine. Baby's only four months old so wouldn't have even realised.
The write-off thing had occured to me and I'm a little worried about it. The car is absolutly fantastic, better than I'd expected and I waited about four years to get it.
If it does get written off does anyone know how much I am likely to get for it and how much it will cost to buy back?
Would I have complications getting it back on the road or insuring it?
If someone can tell me how to get photo's up on here I can post some.

Worse, it was an old woman, (55 - 60 ish) and it was a Nova that hadn't been maintained since it left the factory. She said she had only been driving just over a year. If she's made it that long with out then why did she have to learn? Grrrrrr

My beautiful Irmscher MV6 was on the way to a camping trip on Friday night, with me my other half and our baby comfortably tucked up inside it. I stopped in Tesco's in Amersham to pick up some supplies and my girlfriend waited in the car with the baby. THANK GOD SHE DID.
I got a phone call while I was inside saying that I needed to go back to the car immediatly.
When I got out there there was a scrape from the back of the drivers door across the alloy all the way to the back of the bumper. The wing was stoved in at the back and the Irmscher bumper is cracked off it's mounting.
How gutted am I. The woman who did the damage using her antique Nova had tried to drive off and only stopped because my partner had got out and jumped in front of her car.
Then she said that if it was going to be less than £200 to sort out would she be able to pay in cash.
I'm guessing that it may be a little bit more expensive than that.
This is how I feel: >:( :'(
It was a week almost to the minute after buying the car.
Gutted.

Sorry for being so far down the list. Massive thanks to Mr and Mrs Terbert for looking after us so well and also for making this the most conveniently located meet that I've been to :y
Thanks very much to Ian for the demo, sorry that I missed the end both times but will apply what I have learned, appreciate the effort you put in for everyone.
Good effort getting down Tim, nice to see my car's big simplified brother again :D.
ChrisG, I'm working over your neck of the woods for a couple of weeks so if you want a quick go in her now that she drives in a relatively straight line I'll pop over and we can have a swift pint.
Everyone else, lovely to meet you or see you again. Sorry I shot off without saying anything but got a phone call and had to dash.
All the best and hopefully see you soon.

How good is that, this is about a mile away from my home. Might well be seeing you there.
Wahay, Risky, how is the old girl?
Hello Chris,
Mot just over a week ago, no advisories. Same with the Mondeo. :y
Last Monday I came out and someone had driven into the drivers door of the Mondeo, Thursday I came out and someone had backed into the front offside wing of the Omega.  :'(
Running well though. Need to do a little tidying and then sadly both have to go as I need a 7 seater. You've still got first refusal ;)
I take it you're coming to Wycombe?

Can anyone spot ........

A. The Asda accessories?
B. The stolen Mondeo?
C. Any gayness !?

Luckily no one can see my shirt !! :P :P
That's amazing, Gav. You must have spent hours on Photoshop getting rid of the Mondeo. Or did you take it from inside through the missing window ;D

I'm probably still off the road. Might be there in a Mondeo if that doesn't cause too much offence. Need to catch up with chrisgixer. You never know though, might have it sorted. :y
