I noticed this when I picked mine up (dark blue). Had to travel over to Kent immediately after collecting the car. It was foul weather and the car was unfamiliar so I just sat at 70 around the M25 and down the M20. Saw quite a few exotics creep past me with blued brake disks only to cane it off when they saw me at the wheel. Thought to myself that some white shirts and black tank tops would be fun.

me and a friend where on route to a friends fathers funeral in luton many moons ago.
at the time he had a white astra sport .mk3 or 4 ,cant remember now.
so thats 2 burley chaps in white shirts black ties, both wearing sunglasses (it was summer)

just for giggles every so often i would play with imaginary swithces on the dash and headlining.

ive never seen so many people drive at the speed limit on a dual carridge way with no places on it for cameras to hide . ;D

luton plod are also very heavily into there vx's. bet they get some great discounts  ;D

This used to be the case a lot some years ago around North Wales and before this the big Senator 24 Valve would sneak up behind you, but in most places now, its the dreaded white T5 derivative that has taken over as the rear view shocker.

It appears that some forces have plain silver Omegas as traffic cars ;D
Milton Keynes for one ;)  (and they have a gun metal coloured one)

Milton Keynes would come under Thames Valley Police and they are big Vauxhall users and are now switching over form Omegas to Vectras. I still think that they sould have marked Monaro VXrs  ;D
Yup, going over to Veccy turbos.  I heard a rumour that they were bunging an extra turbo in...

Thames Valley use a mix of omega 3.2, Veccy 3.2 and Veccy V6 turbos.

Going to diesel fleet for Traffic mid-year - saving on fuel!!

Colours vary, but mainly silver and dark blue.

Biggest clues are twin rear view mirrors, strobe lighting on rear head rests and small strobes on n/s and o/s front bumpers.

I saw a black 03 3.2 Omega pull someone over the other day in Poole, they probably thought I was backup.

Those 3.2 Vectras must be fast, but are reasonably small cars, not enough room for all the road cones :)
The last Vectra I drove as a hire didn't have great handling characteristics.

The 3.2 Vectras are the worse of the fleet for speed, handling and space.  The turbos are lightning quick and the hatchbacks handle much better than the estates.

Overall. the Omega saloons are the bestest, 3.2 vectra estates the poorest.  IMO, since the Omega is no more, the Volvos should be used.  As for diesel engines (that'll soon be the fleet),  any mid range engined vehicles will pis5 over the police.  That's government savings for you!!!

There are police marked 54 plate Omegas out and about if my memory serves me correctly.
