A sad find
« on: 22 August 2015, 14:38:00 »

A have just found this link on YouTube. Brought tears to my eyes. He was a flying instructor on Microlytes. He ran Eaglescott Microlytes at Eaglescott airfield near South Molton in Devon. Unfortunately he died 7 years ago this coming October.
May be a bit mushy for you lot, but felt I needed to post...... :(
Its my brother, by the way...

I wish I had copied the video from my brothers website - he used to run 'South west RIB rides' tearing round Plymouth harbour in an inflatable with a 150hp motor on the back :'(

I used to stay near Eaglescott airfield regularly. I went over there once to see if I could get a glider flight but they had a problem with their tug aircraft. Not sure if I met him. Who knows? It was a long time ago, but the airfield was a friendly place. Your brother was clearly well loved, Terbs.  :y

What a great tribute to an obviously well liked man. I can understand why you think it a bit mushy,  but still a fitting tribute I'm sure.......

I liked that.

Quite sure I would have liked your brother as well.

Nice video that is a good reminder to you of him. Obviously he impressed a number of folks.

.....and that's good.  :)

Thanks fellas, for your nice comments. Yes he was well liked, was a laugh and a half.
But.....once in aircraft mode, was totally serious and no nonsense. Fools were not tolerated. RIP bruv :(

Terbs, if you wish I can rip the videos off there for you so that you have a copy for yourself that you control (and not youtube)

I did the same for a video of my bruv in a Kill Your Speed advert that was released in the 90's and as such the VHS copy we have is not that great.

Let me know and I will do the necessary :y
