Update diagnostic threw up  loads of codes then cleared to show up air mass flow no reading at all, O2 sensor disconnected car started running with blowing and loud due to O2 removed.

Hello been away for a while, and straight in with a vectra c 2.2 2008 petrol (z22yh)problem what symptoms would sticking swirl flaps or failing aculator cause. Car starts 1st time from cold then then dies with in a minute or soon as accelerator is pressed. Cheers ajn

forget swirl flaps...either fuel pressure regulator or high pressure fuel pump....trust me I know I have just repaired my own...oh by the way if it is the HPFP it is circa £398 from Vauxhall and it is a Vauxhall part...does your car have a continental pump or siemans pump fitted
. Thanks for the replies lads, I bought a so called recon hpfp from e£ay didn't make a difference in the flat spot, uneven idle and limp mode. The car starts fine from cold dies after about 45 seconds or accelerator pressed. My original was a continetal the recon siemans. If I get it for a diagnostic check at a garage will they still be able to diagnose if the car wont idle for more than a minute or so. Could a fuse cause this. Ajn

Im just looking now at the downladable bills of sale on the internet, Im just worried that the guy whos buying it is just going to drive round and not do the ness vosa check, The car had about 6 mths mot on it and the damage is a dent to the back door - Would you know if the MOT is now void on it or not

Ello
Does anyone know the correct procedure for selling a Cat c write off (the buyer is aware)  It hasnt been vic checked yet. What would my resposibilty be as a seller? Is it a simple case of filling out the reg document and sending it off as usual. Once ive filled out and sent the log book to dvla can there be any comebacks to me?
cheers

Agree with you ajn it is a redicilously situation. But this is the down side of unscrupulous sellers stitching people up, causing admin agro and disputes openly argued on the forum.

Thing is anyone looking to buy, including oof'ers will use the channels you have already used to sell. So no biggy really.

Its a shame, as you rightly say, but necessary, no doubt about it IMO. :(point taken and understood thanks lads ajn

You may think that, but too many have been ripped off in the past, so we have been forced to introduce this.

End of the day...theres no such thing as a free lunch, and free advertising is what you are after.

Post above modified as it reads too much of an advert to me.
Now I can see why things need to be strict to avoid problems as the forum is for help and disscusion, but as for the advertising  and the lunch thing I dont want it.

My car has been classed as a write off for a crash and is at the end of its years as a taxi so Ive got it advertised else where as I wasnt allowed to put it on here as I havent posted enough posts. I would rather it go to some on this forum. I have had loads of help from this forum and saved myself a fortune so surely if someone needed a car spares or repair this should be the place for it to go seems a daft rule to me.
