Just driven my 50 miles to work on a roads light has not come back on. Am i correct in thinking it cant be maf or air leak as the drive this morning would have put the light on again

Right changed the 02 sensor with a bosch one, cleared the code and the following day the code came back. Whats the best way to find a air leak. I have looked but cant see any splits. Also is it worth while cleaning the maf and if so how do you clean it. I also read it could be fuel filter would this cause the code

No running issues noticed.
2 sensors 1 before cat 1 after, thats what i understand after reading on google. Just trying to find out if the one i can see in the engine bay is the one the code is on about.

This has come up on my audi 1.8t petrol. Car still runs great. I have done a bit of googling and it came back with maf,air leak,02 sensor.
I cant see any split hoses.
would it be just a coinsidence that iam on my second tank of esso 98 oc really cold weather.
How do i check maf..
Code reader said it was lean on bank 1. Would this be the 02 sensor before cat.
can i keep running the car until i can fix the problem
Thanks for any help iam a bit stuck down here for help..

Never had any problems with snow in my omega ownership bit of xtra weight in the back and all good. But 2 issues now i live down here. Lots more hills just outside my house with single lane traffic 2nd is a fwd audi that just turned into a snow plough when i did get it off the drive. We now have the issue of roads that look like rivers. Went over the hills to work this morning and snow drifts on the side of the road where huge.
I have been looking at a bmw x3 3ltr. Standard size wheels and tyres. Was looking at this as nice to drive for summer and should be high enough and capable for the winter rain/mud/snow.

So reading between all the other stuff that has been written. Would you really need a 4x4 with diff lock etc to cover the odd bit of snow on our roads or would a awd with winter tyres do just as well. Not counting for height clearence. I just dont really want to buy a x5 or a range rover for the odd couple of days.

Knowning nothing really about this but after reading some stuff on here about bmw x5s and seening a land rover and a truck thing go up our hill without a problem but a chap in a range rover couldnt. My question is whats the best and why or is it just tyre choice and driver skill. Would lets say a audi quattro on winter tyres be as good as lets say a land rover. Also whats the difference in all wheel drive and a 4x4.

Audi remember, not Omega  :)

Ah! You'd have thought that Paul would've mentioned that in the OP  ::)

Sorry didnt think of that.. Iam asking because i keep neing flashed by oncoming cars.

;) Drive up to a wall / garage door & see where the beams land andgoo from there.

You cant really tell off the wall. Height is fine, manual up and work. I have had time know to do a bit more research. Its looks like it has a ajuster screw. So will take a look tomorrow.

General Car Chat / Audi a4 estate radio
« on: 10 January 2018, 21:43:20 »
My audi radio keeps dropping its fm radio station. It wont even hold radio 2. The aerial is in the rear window. I have cleaned window but didnt help.
Would it be a idea to replace the aerial for one on the roof. I have read it has a seperate amp for the aerial would it help to change this. Any ideas please.
