When an Epson starts to clog, if the clean routine doesn't fix it, bin it. Oh, and Epsons don't like cheap ink
At £22 per ink for a 6 ink printer it's really going to get Epson ink.
Fortunately, I realised some time ago that printing colour at home is a hiding to nothing with an expensive shafting at every step of the way, hence I've got enough "skip find" mono laser printers to see me out.
Sadly, Mrs. KW is yet to see the light.
You need a CIS system
Got one on my £400 Epson (ok i only paid £200 for it as a new model was coming out).....Works fine with it, if you use dye ink and not pigment ink. Dye ink is less prone to clogging....Prints great A3 pics when needed
I did have to unclog one the heads a while back after about 6 months of not using it....but usually if i dont use it for a month or two....several head cleaning routines are enough to to clean the heads and reprime the tubes from the CIS
As for the cheapie £30 Epson i have downstairs for quick print jobs.....ie emails/etc, i use use cheapie cartridges in it.....ok it whinges sometime the carts arent original, but still prints ok
