Your whole saga is just unbelievable and unacceptable - I'm currently in the market for a replacement for SWMBOs Omega Estate, and was looking at Mercedes, 3, maybe 4 years old.  Your experience does very little to promote MB IMO.  Have to say that I've had company MBs a few years back and found the main dealerships ok (I used one in Colchester), obviously from your experience things have changed.

Pity Jaguar doesn't make a decent sized Estate, as I've found their aftersales/service excellent.

Andy's dealer may be shit but they aren't all like it,my local one here in Cornwall is very helpful whenever I enquire for parts etc, I've even had a member of staff deliver to me on there way home to save me a trip(20 miles away from me) :y

Have no complaints about the Crawley dealership either, even though they hadn't supplied the car :y

That said, the car required no warranty work and they didn't damage it... it's only when things go wrong and they fail to deliver on any level that you find out just how bad any company can be :-\

....
Its not a Land Rover incognito is it?  ;D :-X

I've to keep looking at photo's to remind me what it looks like ...... it's now about 6 weeks since I first took it to MB  ???

Go in armed with £100,000 to buy a new S-Class and the customer service may improve.

Sadly, most main dealers are dismissive of customers with older cars. They'd rather you didn't bother them. :-\

That doesn't work sometimes.....the boss of company I work for....runs an exec car service....he had on his shopping list 3x E classes and an S class for himself....nearly £200k of cars.....he went to the merc dealer where I live to start with.....he wanted a £5k option for his S class thrown in free....salesman said no....Mercedes of Southampton now get all his business  ;D

Funny you should say that... A distant relative (through marriage) went into a Mercedes dealership in Scotland looking for a car. He had been decorating and was in work clothes and they virtually escorted him off the premises. He went back 2 days later in his suit and asked to see the MD. he was dutifully brought out and he then said, very loudly that he had been in a few days previously, blah blah. Then he handed him a business card and said "I've just finished over the road in Volvo. I went in and ordered 10 6x4 tractor units with all the options ticked  :D

Karma's a bitch ;)

I'm fairly certain he said the MD was last heard shouting very loudly at the cretin who had turned him away! Especially as he also bought himself a brand spanking Jag that week :-X ::)

I'm no betting man, but if I were choosing where to lay a small wager, I'd have to go with...
