General Car Chat / drivers cpc
« on: 28 September 2014, 15:35:09 »
Contemplating doing a bit of "C" class agency driving over the winter. I drive them regularly now but not on a professional basis.

Is there much to it?

General Car Chat / multiram
« on: 09 September 2014, 18:33:50 »
I have owned the vehicle since 2010, most journeys are to the supermarket and back with er indoors, so driving like im from Northampton rarely happens.

Spurred on by a certain bears enthusiasm i thought i would check pipe routing and connections out of interest just to see if all was correct.

All being connected correctly , using a multivac guage to check for vaccuum to the electrical valve and then after on blipping the throttle.

Further digging found the small hose which connects to the "T" piece at the front multi ram split on the underside.

Road test later..

Omega General Help / weird central locking "fault"
« on: 16 August 2014, 20:30:41 »
Out onto the drive way, unlock the car using the remote unlocking, no problems.

Park outside a certain local shop and no locking on the remote control. Have to use the old fashioned way.

Anywhere else other than this local shop (three visits now) no problem??

Fitted a new battery just to make sure i wasn't going mad.

Some weird interference like what used to occur with some Renaults?

General Discussion Area / bathroom silcone sealant
« on: 13 August 2014, 19:42:59 »
The shower in my house is well used. Refitted in 2010 and had to change the sealant twice already because of black mold.

I have used so called quality sealants with a 10+ guarantee to no avail.

Is there any trade recommendations for a quality sealant product which wont go moldy.

Price is not a problem, as i can use the remainder on some cam cover gaskets. (runs and hides)

Thanks.

General Discussion Area / tv packages
« on: 30 May 2014, 00:49:04 »
At the moment paying probably too much for my tv phone and broadband.

Thinking of down sizing, broadband is a must, phone hardly gets used, and the tv tends to get used for seperate packages like netflix which er indoors coughs for.

Most in the house are sick of adverts and tend to watch computer tv or netflix and if the do watch regular tv, the channels are on freeview anyway.

All in all thinking of binning phone and tv and getting a gadget to watch netflix and alike.

Any suggestions?

Omega General Help / thermostat
« on: 21 March 2014, 10:44:09 »
Doing a bit of running around last night when the temp gauge red lined. Popped the bonnet and had a quick check in the dark, aux belt in tact and coolant full. Hoses didnt seem too hot so gingerly tried to get home but the expansion cap wasnt having any of it.

Went back to it today and topped up with half a litre of coolant and all seems well.

Im guessing the thermostat threw a wobbly and stuck.

Changed it a couple of years ago due to a leak around the mating flange and fitted a Q H thermostat on its own.

Hate doing jobs twice, (original obviously lasted 10 years+, so what brand should i fit / complete housing??

thanks

No, not that kind.

Got some promotion leaflets to send out, is there a cheaper way of doing it than sticking a 50/60p stamp on each envelope?

Only a small amount of 100-200 first batch.

I hate to disappoint..
