Omega General Help / Autobox kick down.
« on: 14 May 2013, 18:36:46 »
Using the omega for a run around at the moment, city driving.

In the old days of auto, there used to be a physical switch under the throttle so when floored the box would drop a cog or two.

What s used on the omega?

Seems about as decisive as a woman in a shoe shop and as quick to change as me getting out of bed in the morning.

General Discussion Area / virtual phone numbers
« on: 20 April 2013, 11:35:55 »
Does anyone use this kind of setup for there business or know much about it.

Land line to mobile call divert comes out quite expensive from my current phone provider (virgin) so wondered what the alternatives are.

I want to be able to provide a local land line number with the convenience of a mobile.

General Discussion Area / Embarrassing moments as a kid.
« on: 05 April 2013, 22:56:26 »
Was a long time ago for most.

Here goes.

As a kid, i was always the snotty green nosed kid. Not alot has changed over the years..

I was in a lift on the way to a wedding reception in a hotel and what always follows at some point with a snotty snively nose is a sneeze.

Poor bloke in front of me ended up with a prized green snot on the back of his jacket.

I dont know, what do you do, your a kid??

Omega General Help / Abs pump part nos
« on: 25 March 2013, 09:06:56 »
Slightly confused as to the array of part numbers used on these.

Im after a straight forward swap possibly with the intention of just swapping the electronics bit in situ.

BBa have a list of part numbers,

http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=cadillac%20_bosch_5.3_abs

0 265 220 427 is mine.

This is the only number i can see with the unit still in situ.

This number is on the aluminum pump block.

These are not the only numbers quoted on egay. You also have ecu numbers quoted and for example DX and DY numbers.

Is a number match on the alley block enough for a straight swap?

General Discussion Area / Traffic lights.
« on: 23 March 2013, 12:14:19 »
With a new Morrisons store and an "upgrade" to the A45, we have a bundle of new traffic lights.

All the lights have what look like to have mini cameras fitted.

Have the traffic light controls caught up with modern technology and the cameras there to assist or are they more street surveillance thru the back door?

General Discussion Area / Runaway train
« on: 01 March 2013, 16:55:50 »
The movie was on the telly the other night.

I know sending a load of oil workers into space to land on an asteroid, drill a hole onto its centre and blow it up is perfectly feasible, but runaway trains!
