General Car Chat / new vauxhall section.
« on: 23 February 2013, 23:12:21 »
They don't make them anymore, love em or loathe em.

Members either own other vauxhalls or have replaced their omegas with modern replacements(?).

Still members would rather place a question here rather than on some "Chav i just want to insult you forums"

So why not in courage the chat in a format which will provide real answers rather than, " I dont know, but that sounds awesome mate" style you know what i mean, like.

Not just the smaller vehicles,I'm pretty sure there are answers to the problems to the more expensive vehicles which some own.

If i knew out to do a poll..

Do you think he will sell many spares?

Bearing in mind that it was possibly the last one on the road.

General Discussion Area / bill board ads
« on: 12 February 2013, 22:27:29 »
How do they do it. I remember traveling down the M6 to one of the busiest junctions around with the M5 to be presented with a motorway height billboard advertising at the time a Bravissimo advert.

Today i saw another over the top advert, luckily this time at a junction which required a little  less in concentration .

Omega General Help / abs module
« on: 29 January 2013, 21:18:04 »
The day before i set out for a trip similar to tunnies, the abs, tc lights lit up briefly at slow speed, then went out.

No codes were stored.

One thousand six hundred miles later the lights are getting more regular along with no speedo reading. The old girl saved all the trouble till i got back and even started faultlessly at -15c (heated seats mmm)

The chances are its the module. Seen a picture posted which possibly showed corrosion damage.

Has anyone managed to fix/solder/ repair one or is it best to just send it off for recon?

(Even managed 30mpg overall trip fully loaded)

Its cheaper over there i believe, however the thought of landing in calais at midnight and not being able to fuel up is a concern.
Read reports of credit card machines not working and other strange things.
they seem to be few and far between on the motorways?

Omega General Help / inverters
« on: 12 January 2013, 15:31:34 »
Taking a small screen and dvd player with me on my travels for some evening entertainment.

Then i thought, why not plug an inverter into the rear cig lighter for passenger entertainment?

Do these devices draw much current? 200-300w inverter should do.

The cover in the boot seems to take up a lot of room.

Has anyone repositioned the amp? Can the amp and the cover be removed from just the boot area?

General Discussion Area / new year , same old..
« on: 03 January 2013, 08:11:45 »
Wettest year on record. Bet your boots by may we will have a hose pipe ban.

Under the green umbrella to get us out of our nasty cars we should use public transport. Yet train and air travel prices rise.

Enery prices on the rise. Like we have a choice to turning on the gas and electric.

More cuts for the average Joe, wont be long before another expense scandal of some sort is exposed.

terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired
