Welcome back Lizzie - also don't come on here that often, get fed up with the keyboard warriors (some have left/been banned, some still here), and also moved on with my daily driver.  Now looking to sell SWIMBOs Estate to make way for her replacement.

Hope you get yours sorted out ok

2003 2.6 V6 Omega Estate CD Auto
Mileage currently 139,783 – will increase as used daily
MOT Dec 2017

This car is a workhorse, and whilst not “pretty”, has proved reliable over the last 70K miles in our ownership.  Regularly serviced (Service history with car), the last service being carried out by Serek last year.  Body generally rust free, although rear wings showing early signs of rust this year.  Both front and rear bumpers show signs of car park scrapes on the corners (like it when we bought it).  Fitted towbar and electrics (we’ve never used it to tow).  Mechanically in very good order and reliable, everything works, including heated front seats, all 4 electric windows etc etc.  New cat back exhaust fitted recently and new front wishbones (supplied and fitted by Serek last year).  Four recent tyres.  Supplied with two working keys, and handbook, car pass etc.

Available in approx 1 week due to arrival of replacement Estate.

Looking for £550

Omega General Help / Re: Unidentified oil leak
« on: 01 March 2017, 02:34:17 »
Sounds like the early stages of oil cooler failure to me.

As others have said, complete and utter crap.  I do wish members with little or no mechanical knowledge wouldn't post totally incorrect information/solutions to issues that may involve other members in unwarrented work/extra costs.  When a V6 oil cooler fails, you will see your coolant turn a murky brown - thats the correct and only visual sign of oil cooler failure.  The oil cooler sits in the middle of the "V", immersed in coolant - the only place for a blown oil cooler to leak is into the coolant, no where else.

Think your garage took advantage of you and your limited knowledge re oil cooler failure on your car - certainly think they ripped you off financially ::)  You will get better informed help/diagnostics on here, and certainly a more cost effective and correct diagnostics/repairs from some of the mobile mechs on here, or go to Serek's in Huntingdon for an honest, expert and cost effective repair service.

You may want to check availability of parts from mercades in case they need to order them in, VX parts can take 3 days from Germany and you may want time to source parts should mercades have these on back order or you could be waiting ages

Not been on for a while but the above is utter bollux (rather like your silly comments on V6 oil cooler failure).  Mercades, aka Mercedes, have excellent parts support for older models, not like Vx who are rapidly running out of Omega spares.

Remember getting a complete exhaust for a 450SEL (6.9 Lit) over from Germany within 24 hrs a few years back.

Good luck with the MOT Albs ;) :y

Omega General Help / Re: Heater Matrix
« on: 19 December 2016, 00:09:21 »
Quicker to grow the coffee than do it correctly on an Omega. ;D

Cut,n,shut is the way forward on an Omega and almost quicker than messing about trying to unblock a matrix that probably will never be restored to a full flow either and only around £40 for a new one...the 2 O rings are a different story though and GM supply only

Replaced one on my old Elite a few years back - cost at the time for a good new pattern was around £20 delivered, and it came complete with two new o-rings.  Easy enough job cut 'n shut, and all ok when fitted.

Remember just after I fitted mine MarkDTM was recommending a pattern one that cost £14.

Omega General Help / MOT
« on: 23 November 2016, 00:45:21 »
Well the V6 Estate went thro' the MOT today, with only 2 advisories (stone chip on windscreen - same as last year and repaired by Autoglass, and slight corrosion on central brake pipe, again same as last year).  Now on 136K with another years ticket - SWMBO wants to make an effort over Chrismas hols to find a suitable replacement!  More expense tho I have been urging her to consider replacing it for a while.

By the way the GM and the pattern cam cover gaskets from AllGerman are still oil tight :y

Try these - https://www.carcooling.co.uk/car-cooling/car-radiators/vauxhall-radiator/vauxhall-omega-b-94-03/ - I've had a couple of these over the years, quick delivery, good quality :y

Do NOT use KSeal or similar, it will only bung up heater matrix and possibly other areas, and will lead to tears and an empty wallet!

Good luck to him :y

I just wish all the Democrats, no pun intended, would shut up and accept the result...

Unlike Brexit, the American people have voted for change and got one... We merely voted to express our opinion on something that apparently cannot happen >:(

A spot on post! The protesting SJWs are really getting on my boobies. Problem is, of course, that most of them live in a weird sort of dreamworld. They have difficulty with reality.  ::) ::)

What all these anti Trump protestors are really protesting about is democracy!  He was voted in by a majority vote ffs, so they should shut up and accept it.

To be pedantic if you're using 1993 as your base date you'd need a picture of the XJ40,the X300[pictured didn't appear until late 1994.Anyway the Jaguar had style. The Omega B1 is for me very effeminately styled and lacks any kind of road presence, the B2 partly made up for this with its bigger bumpers, mirrors and wheels, although I think the grille could have been better integrated-but that was the corporate "face".Would I have another B1?No I wouldn't,but then nor would I have another B2!Would I have another X300 yes definitely!!

And by the way, if you wouldn't want another Omega B1 or B2, it means you no longer have one, and even if you do, I must ask, what are you doing in an Omega forum? ::)

This forum has always welcomed Omega owners who have moved on to newer and better cars.  I don't think its your place as a relative "newbie" to question why a long standing (4 years) member should come on to this forum if he's not prepared to buy another Omega!

I moved on a few years back after owning a few Omegas over the years to Jaguars (having owned a Mk2 3.8S saloon and a 3.8 E-Type back in the late 60s), and now run a 5.0V8 XJ Portfolio as my daily driver.  Are you suggesting that after some 9 years on this forum, I should no longer come on here?

Welcome to OOF mate - glad to see you took my advice  :y

Tech knowhow on this site is very good, and people generally are helpful.

As for going in the future for the V6 X350, I had no major issues with mine over the years I had it, and got same in p/ex as I paid for it  ;)
