See? That's 2 of us on this thread that liked our Marinas!  :y

Hard to imagine any girlies of the time getting excited by a Marina TC. I suppose you told them it had the same engine as the MGB. :y

That might possibly have worked.

........Oooooh Sharon, I hear that Tigger fella owns a yellow Marina  with twin carbs. My knickers have suddenly become all damp. :D ;D

 :o :o :o Opti!!

But seriously when I saw a Marina I did wet my knickers..............after laughing so much at such an unfashionable car! ;D ;D ;D

I wouldn't, and still wouldn't be seen in one.  At 19 they were such a joke belonging to "old" people. Now at xx I just wouldn't feel safe! :D :D ;)

You just never met the right bloke with a Marina Lizzie!  ;)  :)

I was 19 and had a lot of fun in my Marina.  The girlies never seemed shy at climbing in with me!  8)  :y

Anyone owned a TR7 on here ? Interested to hear of your views on it  ;)

Sorry never owned a TR7.  Owned TR2, TR3a, TR4, TR6 and still got a TR4A.  Having driven a few TR7s, they cannot be considered a proper TR - no poke in comparison, considered a "hairdressers car".  They also rot like b*ggery.

There was only one car worth buying in the mid/late '70s...

This...

Only car I regret not buying when the opportunity presented itself in 1996 ::) albeit not this exact car...

Agreed, personal preference is dark metallic blue or gunmetal with biscuit or cream leather 8)

That said it wouldn't be a seventies thread without some Havana Brown and Russet :D

Nice.....but the 'cold war' 300 SEL 6.3 was faster and had more East German spy appeal. :y

Yup, definitely the combo that's aged the best. I'm also a fan of the metallic reds of the time and that "sky" blue that I've seen on a couple. Cars these days do all seem to be 50 shades of dull.
