Trump likes him and would love to have the same power.

That shows why in many ways I rather like Putin. He is a very strong leader, and as you say, if only Boris and our other politicians could speak and act so freely.
But of course with Putin he leads a country that is not a democracy, is still very much a socialist state with him as absolute leader, not quite communist because they now rather like capitalism. But the average Russians seems to be trapped by the new system so can be publicly treated by Putin in this way; as Stalin would start to do..................before having them all shot!! That's probably the greatest difference between the two; Stalin did such mass killings in a semi-public manner, Putin uses poisons to eradicate those he despises ;D ;D ;D ;D

In Britain Boris would be very wary of upsetting the bosses.......although he would be quite happy to throw the workers under the bus.
Putin knows he has to appeal to the workers.

I rather like Mr Putin, He won't be bullied by anybody, he dispose's of those who dare go against him with ease, the Russian people seem to like him, and it's his Train set so it's his rules, if you don't like it, tough, but you won't take his train set without a bloody good fight. And those that say it's not a good trainset seem to disappear, Shame Boris couldn't do the same with all the Wokey Leftie, softy types.
