winter light not on dash

Hi all my auto gear box runs perfect ie; selects gears very smooth has usual kick down selcets sport mode with light on dash, but when i press winter button no light comes on dash how does it work or is it a fault any help would be appreciated. ;) :-\ owe its a 2.2 cdx saloon 2002 model

There isn't a winter light on the dash. Winter mode is indicated by the winter button illuminating. ;)

Thanks for that thought it was a fault I'll check illumination of switch ..... silly me .....

What does the winter button do?
Locks out 1st and 2nd, so it pulls away in a high gear.

It goes brighter.

Only works up to 50mph (then the function is turned off).

Also, selecting anything other than D will turn it off.

Lack of use sometimes makes the snow/winter button reluctant to switch.

I find it incredibly difficult to tell when the light is brighter or not on mine (probably my eyesight) - but it's plain as day as soon as you go to drive off!

Yeah, its location is poor, so I never check visually.
