Just out of interest is your aerial a standard vauxhall stumpy one?
Using o2 at the minute, but have tried orange as well (same results) and i am waiting for vodafone sim, but i think its the aerial rather than the sim, as when i am in town it loses signal in built up areas.lol would not worry des mine is saying insert sim again now lol, gotta come out again by the looks of it, yeah know what you mean about it going out the window
I live in preston but travel to burnley a lot which is in a hilly area but even so i still get good reception on my mobile, but doesnt even register on car phone.
i've checked all connections etc to no joy, Dave DND said i probably bought a radio aerial off the net and that i should try and get an original, which i did, but it is still the same, its a good job it is fixed in the car as it would have gone out of the window by now!!!!!!!
Wow!! four bars, i never have that even right next to mast lol,how cool will have a play later then lol
I have been looking for a signal booster thingy on net but not had any joy.
do you know you can operate the phone via steering wheel controls instead of reaching down to head unit?
Glad you got it working As i said on a previous thread im struggling with the reception on mine, I have tried changing aerial to an after market one and had no joy, and recently tried a (proper) replacement, but the reception is patchy at best.got o2 in at the mo and i am getting 4 bars next to the little radio mast on the mid
What sim did you end up using and what is your reception like?
exactly which is why i wanted it working so i am legal if i am in the car. Now know how to strip a ccrt 700 to its components lolQuotedone and fixed, stripped the whole lot apart, cassette cartridge out the lot, removed the cover plate for the sim holder gently bent all the pins put all back together and hey presto it works woooooooo hooooooo
A result! Although mine doesn't get a lot of use, I find it does work well ..... and you're legal when you're using it!
Quoteright had the radio out (metal coat hangers are ace lol) gently took the top and bottom plate of the head unit cant see any obstructions in there at all and it is clicking into place ok, dont have a small enough torx bit though to remove the cassette cartridge to gain better access. dave dnd you may have a pm in a mo lol regards testing the phone part if you can
Save the PM - I think you`ve done everything I would so far
