it can be removed by taking out the radio and removing the wiring that works the tm there is a box behind the radio not sure where on the omega i did it on a vectra some years ago there may even be a simpler way to do it im sure someone will advise if there is

Yup, removed mine a few weeks back. 2 connectors, one from the stereo & one for the button. Easy to do, with no adverse effects

If yr feeling adventurous, and remove the break out loom from behind the stereo, The Boy would be grateful for it!

Mine was removed years ago from my car - within a couple of weeks of getting the car - and the panel with the switch swapped for one without a hole.  :y

Can you not just double tap the TM button to put it into manual mode and stop that posh bint talking?

As described you need to take the radio unit out first. Then remove the cage, and unplug the ariel and stereo plug at the back of the cage, then you need to remove the 'B' loom, and pull it out the same way as the stereo unit, as the tm plug is smaller.

The loom 'A' is your stereo plug which you'll need to plug back in.

Then to remove the tm push button switch on the ignitionside, simple remove the side panel on the door closer side, then unplug the smaller plug and cut the x2 cable ties underneath the fusebox then with the previously said side panel removed, it'll help you feed it out of the dash.

There are x3 parts to the tm

As it is in the car

As said, situated drivers side, under dash, left side of the steering column.

Hope the pictures help you out ?.

I had to remove the extra section of loom for the Traffic Master box before I was able to push in the head unit, there didn't seem to be enough room with it in place.

Thanks for the positive comments.

I'm sure the The Boy has seen this, and I don't think it's worthy of putting in the maintenance / guide section to be honest  :-?.

Glad it's helped you out though  :y
