I may put a few other pictures to help those that may find it useful later in the week, and ask of it would be worth putting in the guidance section ?.

Think I could word it better, and so be clearer.  Just that I was posting quickly, hence the rushed job !.

Cheers  :y

As described you need to take the radio unit out first. Then remove the cage, and unplug the ariel and stereo plug at the back of the cage, then you need to remove the 'B' loom, and pull it out the same way as the stereo unit, as the tm plug is smaller.

The loom 'A' is your stereo plug which you'll need to plug back in.

Then to remove the tm push button switch on the ignitionside, simple remove the side panel on the door closer side, then unplug the smaller plug and cut the x2 cable ties underneath the fusebox then with the previously said side panel removed, it'll help you feed it out of the dash.

There are x3 parts to the tm

As it is in the car

As said, situated drivers side, under dash, left side of the steering column.

Hope the pictures help you out ?.
Older ones (metal cased ones) also have an aerial.

Also, the correct location for plastic type is double sided taped to top of heater duct, rather than cable tied to the bracket shown above.  Metal ones are cable tied to heater duct.

You do have to remove with just the keys, no way around it, sorry.

If it's anything like mine was, the locking pins had been bent outwards so the keys slipped inside them, probably by someone using home-made or cheap Ebay keys.

For the sake of about £8, buy proper ones, it'll save you no end of grief

Resorted to my mechanic, and it took him an hour.
He said that he ended up putting the keys in at an angle so they pushed outwards, to bend the locking clips back in, before locating & pulling. The hour was trying to get all 4 at the same time!

Good news was though, once out they were easy to bend back into shape so it now works properly

You may have a different fault, but I like you, first took out the ashtray, all the switches & nearly the vent grills above!

NO!  ;)

Trouble strikes in series of three's, but when working on the car, the next job after a series of three is not the fourth job -- it's the start of a brand new series of three
