Quick Sports Mode Question(s)
« on: 26 September 2014, 19:14:35 »

Hello again lol sorry for a new topic but thought it was separate from my one in gen help.

Is there any harm in leaving the car in sports mode constantly? Yes, I know the fuel will go up cos it changes up at higher revs, but I'm trying to make my ECU learn a new style of driving for test purposes.

So.

Can I leave it in sports mode indefinitely should I choose

&

Will it help the ECU learn to allow the car to be as spritely as poss.?

:)

Are you now known as lord webby the bear  ;D
Ecu is adaptive,so will learn over time your driving style, just change your driving habbits instead of using sport mode,do as tb does, switch of traction control and see how good your 11s are  ;D

I think it reverts back to normal every times you restart the engine. So you will have to just press the sport button.

;D ;D ;D Better than resident sex pest  or whatever they called me ::) ;D

and no I am not so brave as to ''get the back end out'' as im sure you know martin :o ;D

so how long will ECU take to learn? obviously don't need date and time  ;D just a rough idea.

and will it harm anything by keeping it in S mode? cant see it myself but worth asking the gurus  :y

It wont damage anything, and if you do hit 130MPH (ish), it will change into top gear.  :y

With the GS820 TCM, as fitted to webbys, that's dependent on firmware - some lock out top at WOT.  I know I shat myself when it started banging off the rev limiter racing a beemer, I though it had let go.
