Hi all, Happy New Year.

Sorry if this question has been answered before but I want to put a sub in my CDX facelift estate but not lose loadspace or the ability to fold the seats down.

I'm not looking for anything manic, just an improvement in the overall sound so I guess the options are under seat, built into rear side panels or possibly the tailgate.

I am probably going to replace the exisiting ccr2006 with an Alpine single din unit, either 9883 or 9887 and retain the exisiting door speakers as the general opinion is that they are quite reasonable

Any ideas anyone??

the elites had a bose sub in passenger side in boot behind panel iirc first aid flap ??

I recall someone saying that the bose setup had a sub in the side somewhere at the back, do you know whether there is an enclosure which fits behind the panel and does the standard fitment have a grill which replaces the first aid box cutout?

If anyone has a photo of the bose installation in an estate it would be handy.

its a sub in a ported box what bolts to the meatal behind the trim panel if i can get a picture of my dads tommorrow i will bud !!

Another option is something like an Infinity Basslink.
It is an active sub (built in amp) and is both small and powerful.
I used to have one and it was certainly up to the job!

Did wonder about the Basslink but I guess it needs space behind it as it has a driver at the front and a passive radiator at the back so although it's quite compact I was a bit concerned it would to take up floor space in the load area.  How much space would it need behind it to work properly?

It needs very little space behind it. The fitting brackets allow you to flat mount it, which gives you an indication.

I had mine vertically mounted in the corner of my saloon and once I got the crossover frequencies sorted it was very very good!

I have one of those.... well its a Vibe CBR10 Active. Packs quite a punch!!

I have Bose in the Elite, i must say the sound is clearer than the setup in my 2.2 and gives good bass, but not nearly so much kick.

I must be getting old, as i prefer the bose setup!

I been waiting for a Bose Estate Sub box for ages now, so I can complete my Bose / Colour Screen project on my MV6 Estate, pretty much given up now, there like Hen's Teeth and when they do come up on Flebay far too much money, he's a link and Pic of one that was on eBay recently (£200 inc P&P, Basically paying for a single Bose speaker in a Plastic Box as all the other stuff is readily available especially from Saloons).

I'll probably go down the route of fitting two Saloon Subs in my rear Door with a wooden baffle and lots silicon sealant.

Another idea I had was to copy Mazda, they have a Bose Sub Box that fits inside the spare wheel in the Back, suppose if you remove the steel threaded rod and are good at woodwork you could come up with something?

If your thinking Alpine Set Up, I have a Alpine Media C800R foldout 7" and N077PS DVD Sat Nav which I'll probably sell soon, it was heading for my Cossie, but have decided against it for security reasons.
