Omega General Help / Xenon Headlight ECU / Tech 2
« on: 23 December 2019, 17:19:20 »
After having replaced both Xenon headlights, Tech 2 is no longer able to communicate with the headlight levelling system ("No Communication With Vehicle").
Communication with other systems work fine.
I also get an intermittent error message for malfunctioning headlight levelling system on the information screen in the car.
My first idea was that the front levelling sensor was causing this but then again, even if the sensor has gone bad, Tech 2 should still be able to communicate with the system?
Does anyone know the location of the Xenon Headlight ECU (GM part No. 90 565 31)? Maybe this part is creating the problems?
Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated  :)

It would be highly appreciated if someone could move this post to "Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted".
Thanks in advance.

Xenon headlight adjustment sensor (front) needed.
Possible part numbers 9117094 / 93197514 / 93197245 / 93197514.

I am replacing my Xenon headlights and have found out that the front level sensor is broken and needs to be replaced. The original part number is 9117094 but has apparently been replaced with 93197514.
My local GM workshop tells me that this number has also been replaced with 93197245 (front) and 93197514 (rear).
However, the prices are horrendous so I will not buy from them...
--> Are there any tips on where to get a sensor, new or used, at a reasonable price and which article number(s) I can use?

When I try to adjust the new headlights in height, it seems that the electrical motor is positioned in some kind of end position and the light beam is pointing downward, just in front of the car.
--> Is it possible to run these electrical motors, without a working sensor, to get the light beam up? I also wonder if I will need TECH2 in order to do the adjustment?

All tips are welcome :)

Omega General Help / Accelerator Cable
« on: 05 June 2015, 16:55:08 »
I am in need of a replacement accelerator cable, used or new, with GM part No. 90572520 (Opel # 847158).
Unfortunately this specific item is obsolete and not possible to buy new any longer and in addition to that, it seems impossible to find a used part as well :(

Looking at http://www.partsbase.org/opel/omega-b-1994-2003-7--7-39-1-accelerator-control-contd-20se-l96-x20se-l96-x20xev-l34-x25xe-l80-x30xe-l81-engines-contd/ I can see that there are lots of other item numbers when it comes to accelerator cables to the Omega.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to use any of the other part numbers to my car, which is an Omega B facelift (manufactured 1999/12), 2.5 petrol with manual gearbox?

Omega General Help / Parts for xenon adjustment
« on: 05 June 2014, 18:04:32 »
I need to replace part numbers 6,7 and 13 for the automatic xenon adjustment system.

9117095 (No. 13) and 90576521 (No. 7) are available at various shops but when it comes to 90576131 (No. 6) itīs getting tricky.
The information I have got from several auto supply stores, is that this item is obsolete and cannot be ordered any longer :(

Any suggestions where I can get this part, preferably new (or used in very good condition)?
Ideally, all three parts should be available from the same place.

Omega General Help / What is the function of this part?

Could someone please tell me the function of the part with a red arrow pointing at it?
A cable plug (yellow arrow) is connected to the component.

Is it advisable to replace any bolts and/or nuts when replacing the wishbones or can the old ones be reused?

« on: 25 June 2012, 14:57:20 »
I registered as a member more than 7 months ago but just realized that I haven't said hello to you all properly, so Hi all! ;D

I have had my Omega 2.5 -00 saloon for two years now and I must say that it is hard to get more value for money :y
The car is being used as a second car which means that the annual mileage stays around 3000-4000 miles.

Since I registered, I have got plenty of help here and I must say that this is really the way a forum should be :)

Omega General Help / 205/60 R16 ?
« on: 24 June 2012, 10:20:48 »
My 225/55 R16 summer tyres will soon need to be replaced and when getting new ones,
I'm considering to go down in widh. 205/60 R16 has almost the same circumference, would it be
a good idea to choose this size considering handling, stability, noise level, fuel consumtion, etc.?

Omega General Help / Klarius QH Wishbones
« on: 16 June 2012, 11:37:25 »
Does anyone know if Klarius QH Wishbones are of good quality? When searching the web, I came across this this brand which claims to be of Qriginal Equipment Quality. The price is decent (slightly below Ģ75 a pair, complete with front and rear bushes + ball joint, if I understand the German correctly  ???).
Could this be a good alternative to Lemforder/Meyle/Febi Bilstein?

Omega General Help / Damaged brake pipes
« on: 26 May 2012, 21:12:56 »
Today I surpassed myself and did exactly what I told myself absolutetly not to do...
In order to have a look at the brake pipes at the rear (to check rust), I jacked the car up, realized that I had to move the jack in order to make room for the jack stand, lowered the jack and "forgot" ??? that the jack stand was still under the car and NOT in the right place. Result: both brake pipes going from the front to the rear was squeezed between the jack stand and the chassis (close to the rear, left (UK passenger's/my driver's side) door.
Luckily neither of the pipes were punctured and the brakes are working as before. However, I realize that I have to fix this ASAP.
Any ideas which is the best way to fix it? Change the entire length of both brake pipes (which length are they and are the fittings in the front and rear end accessible?) or just repair the pipes using a short pipe and suitable brake pipe fittings (which is allowed in Sweden)?

Omega General Help / Adjusting the handbrake
« on: 23 May 2012, 15:50:56 »
My handbrake "bites" at a very high point (last click) and I need to adjust it. I have read this guide http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90580.0 but it is far more extensive than what I need and I can't really find how to actually adjust the handbrake cable.
Can someone please explain to me how I adjust the handbrake so it bites at a lower point.
